Inspiring greater public participation in Citizen Science
People of all ages can become citizen scientists and contribute to scientific research in the UAE. Through Sahim, volunteers and scientists work together on projects that address real-world environmental problems like climate change and nature loss, from the comfort of their homes, backyards or neighbourhoods.
Launched by the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) and Emirates Nature-WWF, Sahim aims to harness the power of community participation and drive a new era of citizen-science in the UAE. Each project is built upon rigorous citizen-science principles and contributes towards national environmental and sustainability goals.
Citizen scientists will gather useful data about local species and habitats that contributes to environmental and conservation research, decision-making and setting policies and regulations.
