Senior Graphic Designer (SGD)
Background
Emirates Nature is a UAE environmental non-governmental charity, established in 2001 under the Honorary Founder and President H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan as a legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed’s vision for the United Arab Emirates. HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the Ruler’s representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of Environmental Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) Board of Directors.
We operate with offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujairah and are governed by a local board of directors. Emirates Nature works in association with WWF, one of the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation organizations. Emirates Nature-WWF has been active in the UAE for two decades and is renowned for its commitment to biodiversity conservation, habitat protection, sustainable development, and community engagement.
Some of our flagship projects include marine conservation initiatives to protect coral reefs and marine species, wildlife conservation programs focusing on endangered species such as Arabian oryx and sea turtles, habitat restoration projects in critical ecosystems, and sustainable development initiatives aimed at mitigating climate change impacts and promoting eco-friendly practices across various sectors.
It is our organizational objective to ensure a high performing workforce within our offices with highly efficient, skilled members all of whom will be unilaterally focused on supporting and delivering conservation activities to our stakeholders within the UAE.
Job Summary
The Senior Graphic Designer (SGD) will be a key contributor to our brand’s visual identity. The SGD shall work on a wide range of projects to create compelling and effective designs.
The SGD will report to and work closely with the Senior Manager – Marketing & Products to create and revamp multiple visual projects; thereby uplifting the overall brand identity of Emirates Nature-WWF. The SGD will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to create visually appealing assets that align with the overall EN-WWF brand and its marketing objectives.
The SGD is someone who has a passion for storytelling, a keen eye for design aesthetics, and a very strong proficiency in graphic design software and trends.
Major Duties and Key Responsibilities
Department Level Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Manager – Marketing & Products in updating EN-WWF brand assets on a half-yearly/bi-annual basis.
- Support in the development of sub-brands and their identities, as needed under the umbrella of the primary brand, under the guidance of the Senior Manager – Marketing & Products and/or Director – Marketing & Engagement.
- Support the Marketing & Business Development Team in the creation and design of various campaign-related collateral for EN-WWF’s Partners and Stakeholders.
- Support the Business Development Team in the design of visually appealing and modern pitch decks and presentations for various EN-WWF products.
- Support EN-WWF’s Project Teams in the creation and design of various collateral such as event invites, case studies, reports, infographics, and more.
- Support the Social Media Team in collateral creation and design for various platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, and more.
- Support the Digital Team in web, ad, email, and newsletter collateral creation.
- Support the Product Team in the creation and design of event calendars, event promotion artwork, and more.
- Support the Marketing Team in the creation and design of EN-WWF’s Official Merchandise products, catalogues, and more.
- Support the Management Team in the design of high-level pitch decks and presentations under the guidance of the Senior Manager – Marketing & Products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Conceptualization:
- Create visually engaging designs for a variety of mediums, including digital and print.
- Develop creative concepts that effectively communicate the desired message.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Brand Consistency:
- Ensure consistency in design across all brand touchpoints.
- Adhere to brand guidelines and standards while pushing the creative boundaries.
- Digital and Print Design:
- Design digital assets, including social media graphics, website elements, and email campaigns.
- Create print materials such as brochures, posters, and promotional materials.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, web, and business development.
- Incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders to refine designs.
- Stay Updated on Design Trends:
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in graphic design.
- Implement innovative and cutting-edge design techniques.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prioritize and organize workload effectively.
- Diligently maintain & track jobs and tasks utilizing various parameters such as time taken, delivery rates, delay tracking, and more.
Types of Design Projects within Scope:
- Pitch Decks: Design visually compelling pitch decks to support the presentation efforts of the organization.
- Project Portfolios and Presentations: Develop engaging visual content for project portfolios and presentations, showcasing our work and capabilities effectively.
- Illustrated Reports: Create visually appealing and informative reports, including Conservation Reports, Impact Reports, Project Reports, Marketing Reports, and other documentation.
- Social Media Posts: Design eye-catching graphics for various social media platforms, ensuring alignment with our brand and message.
- Illustrated Graphics for Multiple Channels: Develop versatile illustrated graphics suitable for use across diverse channels, maintaining brand consistency.
- Case Studies: Design compelling case studies highlighting successful projects, effectively communicating achievements and outcomes.
- Digital Social & Web Banners: Produce banners for social media and web platforms, adhering to current design trends and platform specifications.
- Print Collateral: Create impactful print collateral, including roll-up banners, booth/kiosk designs, and magazine layouts.
- Sub-brand Logos and Brand Identities: Contribute to the development of sub-brand logos and brand identities, ensuring alignment with overall brand guidelines.
- Merchandise Designs and Mock-ups: Design merchandise, incorporating brand elements, and create mock-ups for various promotional and for-sale items.
- Brand Structure and Guidelines: Assist in the development and maintenance of brand structures and guidelines, ensuring a cohesive and unified brand identity.
- Event Calendars for Volunteer Programs: Design visually appealing and informative event calendars for our volunteer programs, ensuring clarity and engagement.

Required Qualifications and Skills
Skills:
- Technical Skills:
- Highly proficient in the usage of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Lightroom. Proficiency in the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Proficient in the usage of modern design software such as Canva.
- Knowledge of web design principles and experience with UI/UX design is a plus.
- Creativity and Innovation:
- Strong creative and conceptual thinking abilities.
- Ability to bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in written Arabic is a must.
- Ability to articulate design decisions and rationale.

- Meticulous attention to detail in design and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Team Player:
- An ability to work constructively with diverse people and skill sets to create an energized, trusting, and open, mission-driven working environment.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 to 5+ years of professional experience working as a Graphic Designer in an agency or corporate organization.
- An expert in the creation of various types of 2D design collateral.
- Proven experience as a Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Media & Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Must be bilingual: English AND Arabic.
